Read all about the world record beating People's Premiere here.

Normal film premieres are glitzy and exclusive, with nobody invited except VIPs - but the People's Premiere is different: VIPs, IPs and plain old Ps are all welcome to the world's first INclusive film launch. Featuring synchronised screenings at a staggering 60 different cinemas across the nation. With a solar-powered cinema tent pitched in London's Leicester Square, the People's Premiere is also the planet's first truly green film premiere - no greenwash allowed.

Steve Atherton

Steve Atherton

Steve Atherton is the field worker for the Justice and Peace Commission in the Archdiocese of Liverpool. Church is sometimes seen as a place to escape from the world but this group tries to keep social justice issues near the front of the agenda and remind people that we have duties towards each other and towards the world. Climate justice is one of our concerns (other concerns are local debt and Israel/Palestine). In the last few years we took a coach to the G8 summit in Edinburgh and organised a lecture tour for Sean McDonagh.  As part of its awareness raising work this year, the J&P Commission is organising ‘Noah’s Barge’ which will sail from Leeds to Liverpool to arrive in Liverpool on Saturday.

Colin Ives

Colin Ives is a teacher, local retailer and partner in the area's only vegetarian cafe. Formerly an international businessman and management consultant, Colin eventually realised that his interests lie more in community development and issues relating to ecology rather than in 'big business'. Since becoming aware of the looming energy depletion crisis Colin has been investigating how the Wigan Borough can rise to the challenges facing it over the coming years and has recently begun putting a team together to help Wigan transition from a high-energy, high dependency economy to a low energy, highly resillient economy. This project is is based on a approach called the Transition Movement and will be called Transition Town Wigan.
