Read all about the world record beating People's Premiere here.

Normal film premieres are glitzy and exclusive, with nobody invited except VIPs - but the People's Premiere is different: VIPs, IPs and plain old Ps are all welcome to the world's first INclusive film launch. Featuring synchronised screenings at a staggering 60 different cinemas across the nation. With a solar-powered cinema tent pitched in London's Leicester Square, the People's Premiere is also the planet's first truly green film premiere - no greenwash allowed.

Hilary Gander

Hilary Gander

Hilary is one of the founding members and part of the Officers Group of Campaign against Climate Change, an organization set up in 2001 which has been instrumental in raising awareness of the threat of climate change and urging action at a national and international level. Campaign against Climate Change now coordinates a global campaign involving more than 90 countries: one of the major features of this campaign is a Global Day of Action during the UN climate talks each year, including the National Climate March in the UK. In 2008 Hilary became involved in the Transition Town movement and as part of the Steering Group of Transition Town Kingston (TTK) is now engaged in raising awareness at a local level of the twin challenges and opportunities of climate change and peak oil, which includes building links with local schools, businesses, the council and other groups in the community and encouraging them to take action.

Shaun Chamberlin

This screening will be the official launch for Shaun's new book The Transition Timeline, published by Green Books.  The book explains the latest science on climate change and peak oil, and explores four scenarios as to how the next twenty years could pan out for the UK and world. One is the future portrayed in The Age of Stupid, but the focus of the book is the Transition movement's alternative vision, in which we shift our cultural assumptions to fit our circumstances, avoid the worst of climate change and move into a more fulfilling, lower-energy world. Shaun is also the Development Director for TEQs (Tradable Energy Quotas) and a member of both the Department for Energy and Climate Change's Personal Carbon Allowances Advisory Group and the Transition Town Kingston Steering Group.

All of his work is discussed on his website at www.darkoptimism.org
