Astroman

Astroman, Ray Payton has been recycling astroturf for the past 20 years. Ray (a true recycler for over 40 years) couldn’t bear to see the hundreds of thousands of tonnes of these valuable and useful materials from redundant sports pitches being consigned to the insatiable and permanent jaws of landfill. He therefore developed a system for the lifting, handling, storing and processing that eliminates waste and produces a material that is as good as new. It’s ideal for uses such as children’s play areas, lawns, and garden sports. Ray has also recently developed a system for installing environmentally friendly driveways and patios using recycled astroturf. Based on a 4-acre site near Huntingdon, Astroman operates a nationwide delivery and free advice service and will usually respond favourably to approaches from charities, animal sanctuary’s and worthwhile causes.
