Crevasses

Crevasses in the Chamonix area can be hundreds of metres deep and the filmmakers had to wear avalanche transmitters when filming here so they could be found if they accidentally fell into a large one. Luckily the team didn't have to set off the avalanche transmitters and managed to negotiate the terrain safely, with just one small fall into a crevass for Director Franny Armstrong. They may be dangerous but they sure make for photos. This one is taken from the air by stills photographer Charlotte Rushton.
