Screenings in Hungary

22nd November. This page is under construction, sorry for all the mess. The screening information is correct.

One of the most successful countries involved in the Global Premiere on September 2nd, 2009, with packed out cinemas across the country. Info about all screenings at: www.nelegyhulye.com

8 NGO’s cooperated in order to promote the film and create a campaign, called Not stupid. Our mission is if people come out from the film and they are depressed we would like to be there saying don’t be stupid! We had two messages: everybody can do something in order to prevent climate change, secondly we would like to highlight the importance of Copenhagen. We wrote a petition addressed to the prime minister which contains very similar demands to the official GP petition in order to strengthen each other in long term. We organized a press screening in the cinema on 11th of September. Where we have invited two noted scientists who are requested to say reflections and opinions about the film to the film critics and newspapers. After their speech the eight organizers gave interviews to the journalists. We created a separate webpage for the ‘Age of stupid’ campaign where we put the petition which has been signed until now by 1500 people. We are expecting 3000 signatures at least. www.nelegyhulye.com - you can watch here the video about the premier and see the pictures (http://greenpeace.hu/galeria/hulyesegkorakepek) We organized the premier on the 22th of September with green carpet and a lot of celebrities (20) including actors, musicians, TV-stars, climate scientists and politicians (minister of environment etc.). Even the Head of the Copenhagen delegation, our Climate State Secratary was present. It was great to see how the movie touched people. What is also great is that the movie can now be seen in cinemas in Budapest. We invite the Hungarian media and of course the tabloids, photographers and video-makers who can help us to communicate our common message to TV-News, Daily News and naturally to the everyday people. People could walked trough grass to the screening room and come out on sand representing climate change. After the film we hold a cold buffet with Fair Trade products; like coffee, tea, sweets and wine. We put our petition on a big board hold by two polar bears which could signed by the people their. Two famous actors gave speeches before and after the film. During this period I was invited to several TV channels and radios to give interviews about the film. It was a very popular media event.

On September 21st / 22nd, on the eve of the UN General Assembly's climate session, The Age of Stupid was launched internationally at the biggest and greenest live film event the world has ever seen. A-list celebrities walked the green carpet to an eco cinema tent in downtown New York, linked by satellite to 700 cinemas in 50+ countries. Take a look at the photos below from the events around the world and see the Global Premiere page for the full report.
